Robertson Galleries opens as an important contemporary art gallery in Ottawa joining the already-existing Frank Jarman Art and Photographic Stores Limited. Shows the best of contemporary art in Ottawa alongside national practices, and would become one of the preeminent dealers in the sale of Inuit Art. Ottawa Art School is re-opened and rebranded as the Municipal Arts Centre, and established on Parkhill Road near Billings Bridge. The Centre outgrows its premises and moves to a larger building on Bayswater Street in the late 1960s, and relocates several other times before arriving at its current Byward Market location in 1983. It is incorporated as the Ottawa School of Art/École d’art d’Ottawa in 1977 (OSA).

On y présente la crème de l’art contemporain qui se fait à Ottawa et sur la scène nationale. Elle deviendra également l’une des plus importantes galeries d’art inuit. L’Ottawa Art School rouvre ses portes sous le nom de Municipal Arts Centre, sur Parkhill Road près de Billings Bridge. Le centre manqué d’espace et s’installe dans un bâtiment plus grand sur la rue Bayswater à la fin des années 1960, après quoi il déménage à plusieurs reprises avant d’arriver à son emplacement actuel, au marché Byward, en 1983. Il est incorporé sous le nom de Ottawa School of Art– École d’art d’Ottawa en 1977 (OSA/ÉAO).
