The Centre d’artistes Voix Visuelle (Vanier) is founded by Shahla Bahrami and Cécile Boucher. Saint Brigid’s Centre for the Arts is founded in a deconsecrated former church and becomes a venue for performance art, music and theatre, along with The Rectory Art House to provide studio space for artists. University of Ottawa founds an MFA program in Visual Arts.
