SAW Gallery formally established. Algonquin College Gallery opens at Colonel By Campus, serving an important role in promoting mainly young local artists. Kitigan Zibi Anishnaabeg Cultural Centre founded (moves into newly designed building by architect Douglas Cardinal in 2005).
