Fine Arts Association changes name to Art Association of Ottawa, and the Ottawa Art School, under the direction of Charles Eugene Moss from 1883 to 1886, and then Franklin Brownell from 1887 onwards. First commercial art gallery established: James Wilson & Co. art dealers. Wilson is pre-eminent dealer in Ottawa until his death in 1932; firm continues until 1943.
